Do Elena and Damon Become Human Again

The Vampire Diaries ended two years ago, with Damon Salvatore newly human again, living a full life with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). But how did Damon feel almost that human life? Role player Ian Somerhalder recently weighed in on that forepart.

Showtime, a quick recap: In The Vampire Diaries Flavor 8, Episode 16, Elena'southward vocalisation-over revealed that she went to med schoolhouse, then returned to Mystic Falls, since that's where she wanted to abound old. She lived the ballsy life she wanted, giving thanks to Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), Damon'south blood brother and Elena's old love. Here'south what Elena said almost Damon in the finale:

Fifty-fifty after our long and happy life together, Damon is however worried he'll never run into Stefan again, that he'll never find peace. But I know he'south wrong, because peace exists. It lives in everything we hold beloved. That is the promise of peace, that 1 twenty-four hour period -- after a long life -- we find each other again.

The finish shot for Elena showed her finding peace in the afterlife with her family, and so Damon institute peace with Stefan. Damon's concluding words were "Hello, blood brother."

Here's what Ian Somerhalder recently had to say at Supanova Comic Con & Gaming in Australia (via The Music), when asked how he thought Damon spent his human being life before seeing Stefan again in the afterlife:

Ever since then, fans have hoped to hear more than about Stefanie Salvatore, and maybe fifty-fifty meet Damon and Elena'south daughter on Legacies. Julie Plec actually addressed that question after the Legacies Flavour 1 finale:

At any rate, now that two total years have gone by since The Vampire Diaries finale, Ian Somerhalder opened up again on how it all concluded:
